Q: What if I don't have Medicaid?

No problem! We will gather information to see if you qualify. If you qualify, we'll work with you and Medicaid to get you approved.

Q: What is a waiver?

Waiver #1:

(59yr old & younger)

The Health & Wellness (H&W) waiver, formerly known as the  Aged and Disabled (A&D) waiver allows individuals who are aged, blind, or disabled to remain in their home as an alternative to nursing facility placement. Patient must need assistance with daily activities of living.

Waiver #2:

(60yrs old & older)

​

The Pathways waiver requires the patient to be on a managed care entity (MCE). A health plan, or MCE, is a health insurance company. This waiver is similar to the H&W waiver, but for 60yrs old and older.

Q: What if I don't have a waiver?

No problem! We will gather information to see if you qualify. If you qualify, we'll work with you and Medicaid to get you approved.

Your Medicaid Case Manager will perform an assessment and determine a level of care. 

Q: What is the income limit to qualify for Medicaid & the waiver?

$2,829 / month

Income & Asset Limits 

Q: Do I need to have both Medicaid & a waiver?

Yes, you must have both or be eligible to obtain both.

Q: What happens if I move?

You must notify us as quickly as possible and complete a change of address form at your local post office. If it is out of state, your case will be discontinued.

Q: What happens if my caregiver becomes ill or wants to travel?

You must notify us immediately. Your chosen  back up caregiver will temporarily take over and be paid. 

Q: Can the caregiver still work a regular job?

Yes, as long as they are still taking care of the patient.

Q: How often does the caregiver get paid?

Every Wednesday

Q: Are taxes taken out of the caregiver's paychecks?

No, caregivers are considered Independent Contractors.

Q: What happens if the patient goes into the hospital?

We must be notified immediately. Case  may go on hold until patient is discharged home. 

Q: What happens if I miss a home visit?

Medicaid will consider this as being non-compliant. Rescheduling visits are acceptable, however your case will be subject to go on hold or be discontinued for excessive cancelations. Caregiver will NOT get paid.

Q: Who do I call if there's an emergency  after hours?

Call 911 for immediate assistance. Then call our office & leave a message. We will contact you at our earliest convenience.

Q: Can I come to the office?

Yes, by appointment only.

Q: How old does the caregiver have to be?

At least 18yrs old

Q: How soon can I start getting paid?

Caregiver will start the day after Orientation is conducted. Orientation includes an assessment and  signing program agreements. It can be virtual or In-Home. Your first pay check will be the following Wednesday via Direct Deposit, Paper Check, or a Rapid Card.
